Description
Early Nineteenth Century. The rectangular top with canted corners above a drawer inlaid to simulate three drawers, mounted on each end with an enamel roundel painted with an urn, and centering a spiral plumed oval patera, the drop-front painted with a chinoiserie panel depicting a figure in a landscape and inset on the interior with a baize-lined writing surface, opening to reveal a shelf over document slides and a cupboard door, over four drawers, above a pair of cupboard doors painted with trees, the whole within canted sides inlaid with satinwood zigzag borders, raised on canted square tapered legs ending in brass bun feet.H: 58.75 in., W: 38.5 in., D: 16.75 in.
