Illustrated hard boards; 10" x 7.3/4"; maps inside covers, unpaginated, 32 pages, all pages illustrated, very good near fine condition.
Before leaving to explore the Chesapeake Bay, Cavu and Italian Princess, two mallard ducks, try to help Cavu's mother free herself from a plastic six-pack can holder.
Gwen Beall is a nationally and internationally recognized artist. Awards have been given for murals, watercolors, pen & inks, acrylics; the versatility of mediums and styles are readily apparent.
Her family, friends and a high school art teacher encouraged her to produce artworks. She began to paint seriously at her high school in Maryland. Beall won several awards at local, regional and state levels.
"I see beauty in all forms of nature's handy work and that inspired me to put pencil to paper and paint to canvas," she says. Earlier, when Beall lived in California, oil was her media. Later, she moved back to the East Coast and adapted to another media, watercolors. Her favorite subject is water, especially the blue-green variety found in the Caribbean.
