Description
Emily Louisa Bushnell's Needlework Sampler, Conesville, Schoharie County, New York, 1854. Worked in silk threads on linen with six rows of the alphabet, a row of numbers, and signed "Emily Louisa Bushnell/ Sampler May th 28 1854/ Conesville, Scoharie [sic] Co/ NY." Frame: H: 15 in., W: 17.375 in., D: 1 in. Emily Louisa Bushnell was born July 29, 1837 in New York. She was living in Conesville, New York 1850-1855. In 1860 she married Nelson Williams Brown (1829-1902), and moved to Hammond, St. Croix, Wisconsin. Together they had two sons, Alzamore Duane "Alzie" Brown in 1861 and Rienzi Bushnell Brown in 1869. She died in Hammond, St. Croix November 9, 1874.
