Description
Royal Worcester Porcelain Japanesque Teapot and Cover, 1872. Designed by James Hadley, of square section, molded on the sides with a crane and leafy spray, songbird in pursuit of a butterfly on a flowering branch, peony stem and pine bough, the spout a dragon's head continuing to a gilt-scaled bronzed body forming the handle, the whole misted in metallic gold, the shoulders and cover surrounded by meander borders, faint impressed factory mark, raised registry mark. H: 7.5 in., W: 8.375 in., D: 6.75 in.
