Swiss Eight-Tune Cylinder Music Box Housed in an Inlaid Walnut and Painted Faux Rosewood Case, Model 23938, Probably B.A. Bremond or Theodore Jean Greiner, Late Nineteenth Century. Model "23938" stamped on the lever, the tune-sheet printed with a lyre at the top surmounted by a Swiss cross, also inscribed with the model number and "184," eight songs listed comprising "Morning Leaves," "La Norma," "The Barber of Seville," "The Monastery Bells," "The Tannhauser," "Robert the Devil," "Les Huguenots," and "Il Travatore," the cover inlaid in the Aesthetic style in pewter, brass and ebonized wood with a foliate spray issuing a berried palm frond, reserved on a shaped cartouche trailing leaf-capped anthurium leaves. Cylinder: L: 17.25 in. Case: H: 6.125 in., W: 27.75 in., D: 9.5 in.
