Description
Two English Needlework Samplers, Nineteenth Century. Both needlepoint on canvas, the first worked in the center with an elephant wearing a howdah surrounded by animals, birds, insects, a child and putto; the second a row sampler initialled and dated "JT 1851," worked with an alphabet, numbers, wreaths, flowers and branches. First frame: H: 13 in., W: 12.875 in., D: 0.5 in. Second frame: H: 21.875 in., W: 13.5 in., D: 0.625 in.
