Description
1776 Fractional Three Shillings Colonial Bill, New Jersey. Printed "THREE SHILLINGS, No." handwritten "5373," and printed "THIS BILL of THREE SHILLINGS Proclamation, is emitted by a LAW of the COLONY of New-'ferfey-' paffed in the Fourteenth Year of the Reign of his Majefty King GEORGE the Third. Dated MARCH 25, 1776." H: 2.25 in., W: 3.875 in. This note was issued four months prior to the signing of the Declaration of Independence on August 2, 1776.
