A collectable poster for a 1984 showcase for Eliel Saarinen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This show was organized in conjunction with the Detroit institute of Art, and the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Showcased on this poster is one of Eliel Saarinen's most famous designs, his Cranbrook House side chair. This house was designed by Saarinen in the 1920s. During the 30s-50s, Saarinen lived in and designed in this incredible house. This house is now preserved and toured to showcase its exceptional architecture and furniture design. This poster has a black matte and matching frame. The poster is in fair condition but does have visible wear and foxing. It measures 26.25 in tall, 38.25 in wide, and .75 in deep. The poster measures 18 in tall and 31.5 in wide. Provenance: From the personal collection of designer Ralph Rye - a multi-talented visionary with a career in city planning, architecture, interior design, lighting, and furniture design. Rye has collaborated with some of the finest furniture companies in America including Dunbar, Nessen, Thonet, Jens Risom, and Baker.
