Description
This antique map, created by R. Bonne and Raynal between 1775 and 1780, presents the world on a Mercator projection. It is part of "Histoire Philosophique et Politique des Etablissemens," a significant work from the Age of Enlightenment with contributions from Diderot. The work raised questions and addressed issues concerning religion, commerce, slavery, and contemporary political and social matters, leading to its banning in France. Consequently, it was published in Geneva, Switzerland. Crafted through copperplate engraving, this map is presented in overall very good condition, with authenticity guaranteed. It measures 10" x 14 1/2"
