Charles de Temple - A late 20th century cultured pearl and diamond 'Wrapped' necklace, the necklace consisting of forty five cultured pearls, each spaced by two claw set round brilliant cut diamonds, length 106cm, push-in pearl set clasp, hallmarked London, 18ct gold, dated 1978, maker's mark 'C de T' and signed, together with a detachable matching pearl clip, gross weight 123.4g The detachable pearl clip can be used to clip the necklace together whilst still keeping it as a single strand, or it can be used to create a double strand necklace. Charles de Temple became one of London’s most stylish and creative jewellers in the 1960s. His work is recognised by the way he encased individual pearls, amethysts and lapis beads in handmade, organically shaped, textured gold. De Temple is also known as the maker of the original gold finger for the James Bond movie, Goldfinger, and he has made jewellery for other Bond films.
