Textured bull's head, granulation, attributed to Ernesto Pierret, unsigned, circa 1860, ap. 36.5 dwts. With fitted box.
Ernesto Pierret is known as the premiere Roman Etruscan Revival jeweler of the mid-1800s. Believed to have studied under Castellani due to myriad similarities in their work. Highly sought after, Pierret's detailed goldwork often feature micromosaics, Roman coins, cameos and intaglios.
Tests as 18 kt.
Varied shaded of gold, some discoloration, man's visage is bright yellow.
