Description
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC.
A stunning Egyptian New Kingdom jar, possibly from the Amarna period. The jar is painted with cobalt blue and has a globular body, decorated on the shoulders with a fish from the Nile river. Plants surround the design in the main register. The jar has a narrow neck, adorned with lotiform and geometrical decorations made in blue and red and connected to short, everted rim. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 11.215.462. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
Size: 530mm x 350mm; Weight: 10.5kg
Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014, acquired in 2004 from a UK private collection formed in the 1970s to 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
