P. Daniel Demosthene Original Acrylic On Canvas Alexandre Pétion. Alexandre Sabès Pétion was the first president of the Republic of Haiti from 1807 until his death in 1818. One of Haiti's founding fathers, Pétion belonged to the revolutionary quartet that also includes Toussaint Louverture, Jean-Jacques Dessalines, and his later rival Henri Christophe. The original was signed by the artist on the bottom right. The framed original is approx 24 1/2" x 2" x 28" and it weighs 5.40 lbs.
