Pictou Mining Company Stock - Gold Hill District, Storey Co., Nevada - This is rare Comstock mining company. They were incorporated in the right year as 1875 was the height of mining in this area. But this company didn't seem to reap the rewards of the era. Number 1240 issued January 30, 1875, for 100 shares to E. A. Richardson. Signed by H. H. Flagg president. Vignette is of miners with a horse drawn ore cart. For a stock that sold on the exchange in 1874, there is very little written about this mine. The claim is located between the South Overman and Justice mines, (T.D. Parkinson's Map of the Comstock, 1875). Assessments #7 and 8 on the reverse may testify to the fate of this company.
