Description
This is a early 1970s vintage Slingerland that is really cool. It was attempted to be refinished and the job was stopped halfway through. It has a lot of rust and wear but it’s old and cool. With the right care and rehab it could be returned to its former glory. Slingerland Drums was founded in 1912 and produced drums from 1921. The company enjoyed several decades of prominence in the industry before ceasing operation in the early 1980s. Slingerland was acquired by Gibson, who briefly revived it and owned it until November 2019, before selling Slingerland to DW Drums, who announced the intention of re-launching the brand. Slingerland drums were synonymous with jazz drumming greats such as Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich, and rock drummer Neil Peart used them from 1974 to 1979. 22 and quarter rim to rim.
