39" H x 24.5" W x 4" D; Encased in Glass Frame. This item was required directly from the artist by the consignor as a gift. Statom received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. While studying at Pratt, he became interested in glass as a medium and began to explore its possibilities in his artwork.Statom's work is characterized by his unconventional use of glass. He is known for creating large-scale, sculptural installations that combine glass panels with other materials such as wood, metal, and found objects. His pieces often feature colorful imagery and abstract designs painted onto the glass surfaces.Statom's artwork often explores themes of memory, identity, and personal experience. He draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including his own childhood memories, art history, and everyday life.
