Sash Badge, 82,5x60 mm, GOLD as a white enameled star pointing downwards and with ball-finials flanked by green enameled oak wreath, white enameled centre medallion, bearing the symbols of military merit as a sword passing through a green enameled laurel wreath within blue enamled outer circlet bearing the Order’s motto in golden lettering, reverse centre medallion bearing Portugal’s coat of arms on enameled “open book” within blue enameled outer circlet bearing “PELO O REI E PELA LEI”, upper, stylized tower with chiseled details, fitted with round suspension ring, with original ribbon. Breast Star, 66 mm, in GOLD with chiseled details, superimposed with the order’s badge in gold and enamels, the reverse, fitted with vertical pin. An excellently made set of the order, dating to the 2nd half of 19th Century, very rare and extremely fine condition. I RR!
