We find only one instance of this scarce poster selling in the last twenty years in auction. A wonderful caricature of the two stars by the great Al Hirschfeld.

This poster has pinholes throughout and some significant edge wear, with paper loss at the top and bottom. Additionally, there is some paper loss in the upper credit names, which are backed with paper tape.

Following her film debut in The Wizard of Oz, Judy Garland co-starred with Mickey Rooney in 1939's Babes in Arms. Directed by Busby Berkeley and based on the 1937 Broadway musical of the same name, a group of teenagers whose vaudevillian parents doubt their talent band together to perform in a show and succeed on Broadway. It was one of the 100 biggest movies of 1939 and was nominated for Academy Awards in Best Music Score and a Best Actor in a Leading Role nod for Rooney.
