Kaufmann finds endless fascination in the possibilities of clay and the techniques and processes by which it can be manipulated. The work offered here is a part of his "Strata" series, which was inspired by the natural world and the possibilities of multi-layered ceramic landscapes. Kaufmann is currently the President of the International Academy of Ceramics.
