A group of Chinese embroidered silk panels
Late 19th/early 20th century
Comprising two embroidered seat cushions, one in yellow silk depicting a dragon (17" H x 21" W) and one in red silk depicting an older lion teaching a cub (18" H x 22.25" W), each variously worked with floss silk and metallic thread in satin stitch, laid couching and other embroidery stitches, as well as a rectangular red silk runner/panel with a multicolored embroidered border and interlaced knotwork fringing with metal discs (9.75" H x 22.5" W; fringe: 5.5" L), 3 pieces

Condition
Each with dust accumulation and wear commensurate with age and use. Large panels with a few scattered light spots and small holes. Red panel with discoloration to top edge, with some additional small black marks. Each large panel with hemmed edges with excess turned to reverse, and added strips of adhesive tape. Small runner with scattered light spots and stains, and with wear and loss to fringe cords. Loss of two metal discs.
