Description
A COLLECTION OF CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK FRAGMENTS, PANELS AND A TASSELLED HANGING, LATE QING DYNASTY AND LATER. The silk fragments variously embroidered with flowers, figures, birds, vases and other devices, some enriched in gold thread, the tasselled tiered processional hanging embroidered with Fu characters, suspending beads, wooden topped coloured silk tassels, from flower, heart and ruyi-shaped ornament, together with two small glass scent bottles, labelled, suspended within a silk net and tassel hanging (approx.14)Provenance: Property of a local lady, thence by descent.
Condition
These are fragmentary panels and as such they have been cut-down from larger textiles. There are loose threads, slight tearing, damages some wear and losses throughout. The tasselled hanging has some fading to silk tassels, some wear and chipping to gilt wooden tops, some loose threads and minor losses. Scent bottles and hanging with some wear.
