This set of Vintage 1940’s Harker Pottery Cameoware China Set Of 8 Dainty Pink Flower Square Berry or Dessert Bowls Made in USA is in Near Mint Condition! No crazing or any other problems. Simply the best set you will find. Bowls measure 5” in diameter and are approximately 1” deep. Delightful white flowers featured on a pink background. HISTORY:
The Harker Pottery Co., of East Liverpool, Ohio and later Chester, West Virginia, is commonly called the, "Oldest Pottery in America." It started in a log cabin in 1840 by Benjamin Harker, and remained on its original site for ninety-one years. In 1931 the plant moved across the river to Chester and took over the old Edwin M. Knowles plant.
According to the Collector's Encyclopedia of American Dinnerware by Jo Cunningham, "The Jeanette Glass Company bought Harker and closed it down in March of 1972.
Distinctive is the word for Dainty Flower Pattern! Its unusual beauty of color and design lends a happy note of inviting hospitality to any occasion. Dinnerware with a beautiful white dainty flowers-like design against exquisitely colored backgrounds of soft Pink. Color and design applied under the glaze -- can't wear off.
