Cc. 119. Iniziali e finalino xil.Note manoscritte di possesso al foglio di guardia di componenti della famiglia Gervasi. Frontespizio rifilato al margine inferiore. Alcune pagine leggermente rifilate al margine superiore. Piccolo strappo a p. 8. Buon esemplare.Prima edizione di questa traduzione. Ovidio scrisse le "Epistulae ex Ponto" (Lettere dal Ponto) durante il suo esilio a Tomi sul Mar Nero (oggi Constantia in Romania). Le "Epistulae" sono la continuazione delle sue "Tristia" (Lamentazioni), in cui lamenta l'ingiustizia del suo esilio. Camillo Camilli pubblicò numerosi scritti, per lo più traduzioni, a Venezia tra il 1583 e il 1607.

Handwritten notes of ownership on the endpapers of several members of Gervasi’s family. Trimmed titlepage on bottom margin. Some page slightly trimmed on top margin. Little tear on p. 8, overall good specimen.
First edition of this translation. Ovid wrote the 'Epistulae ex Ponto' (Letters from Pontus) during his exile in Tomi on the Black Sea (today Constantia in Romania). The 'Epistulae' are a continuation of his 'Tristia' (Lamentations), in which he laments the injustice of his exile. Camillo Camilli published numerous writings, mostly translations, in Venice between 1583 and 1607.
