Description
**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Egypt, late Third Intermediate Period, Kushite, 25th Dynasty, ca. 744 to 656 BCE. A cast-bronze female figure, nude and standing with closely-held legs, known as a God's Wife of Amun. She presents nude with emphasized breasts and decorated pubic triangle, feet adorned in sandals, and a finely beaded broad collar stretching across her chest. Her almond eyes and full lips are framed nicely beneath a tall forehead and a striated bag wig, and above her head is a circular uraeus crown with 3 discoid panels, perhaps intended for inlays at one time. A slender tang protruding from each shoulder once held an articulating arm that is now missing.

Provenance: ex-Hindman Auctions, 2023; 4; ex-Robinson collection, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, acquired November 28, 1996 from Aaron Gallery, London, UK; ex-Christie's London, Fine Antiquities Auction, December 13, 1995.
