Description: One excellent genre oval 19th-century Scottish Highland oil painting of a Ghillie and girl holding a dog and bagpipes. Subject genre: a Scottish countryside with a terrier dog at the feet and a Ghillie & Girl playing bagpipes on a bridge. The dog is holding a hat, and in the distance, one can see stunning views of the Scottish Highland mountains and surrounding countryside. To the right are views of the river rapids in full flow. A man who serves as an attendant is known in Gaelic as a Ghillie. Scottish educational artist. Not signed. Oil on panel, circa late Victorian era. Presented in a refined flowery gilded frame.
