Chinese Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Doucai Porcelain Tianqiu Bottle Vase On Carved Hardwood Stand. The name of this shape of vase in Chinese is tianqiuping heavenly globe vase and it is significant that in Chinese iconography the earth is represented by a square, while heaven is represented by a circle. Hence, the large globular body of such vases provides an ideal reference to heaven. This vase is a particularly large and impressive specimen of the tianqiuping shape. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against Doucai design color depicted of flying Fu bats over flowers bloom foliage and scrolling tendril. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Yongzheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
