BelleiGaetano Bellei: Italian Academicism (1857-1922)Born in Modena, Italy, in 1857Student of Malatesta and fellow student Muzzioli, he lived in Florence and Rome, his work was dedicated mostly to the representation of major genre themes.Works, which he performed with great virtuosity and one endowed with a slight irony that found a crowd of admirers, mainly among foreign tourists who passed through Italy. He also painted numerous portraits of beautiful women.He participated in important exhibitions, such as: the "National of Torino" in 1898, International of Milan and Liege in 1906 and in Rome in 1911. He exhibited at the "Royal Academy" in London in 1888 and 1922.He returned to Modena in 1893, to be a professor at the "Institute of Fine Arts", he died in his hometown in 1922.
