Oceania, Papua New Guinea, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine pair of hand-knapped celts: one of gray stone and the other of greenstone. More petite of the 2, the gray stone celt presents a long, straight blade edge that broaden to a thick body, and a narrow butt. Alternatively, the larger, greenstone tool displays a smooth, slender body with lightly convex sides, a curved blade edge and a rounded butt drilled with a single socketing or suspension hole. Size of larger: 5.3" L x 2.9" W (13.5 cm x 7.4 cm)

Condition
More petite celt has losses to butt and chipping to sides, but larger is intact. Both have dulling to blade. Larger is excellent with smooth surfaces.
