Watercolor on paper by Zainul Abedin (1914-1976). Zainul Abedin was also known as Shilpacharya, was the most prominent painter from Bangladesh. His painting on Bengal famine of 1944 made him mostfamous. After partition of Indian Subcontinent he moved to Bangladesh. In 1948 he helped establish the institute of Arts and Crafts at the University of Dhaka. His paintings are rare and sold by all major auctioneers around the world. Circa 1940's,original frame under glass, not inspected out of the frame, signed in top right corner by artist, 4 x 3 image. Good condition. Shipping 9in x 7in x 1/2in, 1 pound.
