Description
Early to mid 20th C. double sided painting on artist's board showing an idealized rural landscape with barn and swans on a lake and in the foreground, a little boy drinking out of a dish while a dog looks on, behind them a dog house with "Dog House" written over the door. The other side of the board shows horses drinking from a river in a landscape with a deer running by. According to Mr. Long's notes, the artist was an inmate in a North Carolina Prison. Approx. 22" x 17".Provenance: the estate of John Long, highly regarded Virginia antiques dealer and collector.
