A Sevres porcelain part dinner service from the Hunting Service commissioned for the Chateau de Fontainebleau
designed by Jean-Charles François Leloy
attributed to Antoine-Louis Bouvrain
dates 1837-1847, one plate 1876
Decorated with borders of entwined foliage, animals, arabesques interspaced by vignettes and LP monograms; comprising pair of plates later gilt bronze mounted as compotes, height 5 1/2in, diameter 10 1/4in; thirty-two 9 1/2in plates; one cream soup cup and saucer; and one 7 3/4in dessert plate; blue printed crowned LP SÈVRES and date marks, iron red printed CHATEAU / DE / F.BLEAU in crowned circle, green printed factory in oval S.46 or S.47 mark.
