Description

Offered here for your consideration is a collection of four "ship" knives in a display case. These knives were all hand made, presumably by individuals while out at sea during WWII. The first is a twisted cable wire knife. It measures 11 inches overall with a 6 1/2 by 1 inch blade. The second is a twisted cable wire axe that measures 10 1/2 inches overall with a 5 3/4 inch wide head. The third has a wood and metal inlaid type handle 12 3/4 inches overall with a 8 inch blade that is 1 5/8 inches wide. The fourth is a knife blank with no handle. It measures 12 3/8 inches overall and has a 7 3/4 inch blade which is 1 3/8 inches wide. The three knives and one axe are all handcrafted and remarkably unique in their construction. They will make a very nice addition to an existing collection or can be the start of a new collection.

APPROX AGE: WWII era.
