Description
Offered here for your buying pleasure is a group of nine miniature prehistoric pots. These pots have great provenance and display a nice sample of prehistoric pottery forms and uses. One small pot is decorated with a black painted design. Another comes with it's lid! Bid today and get that collection off to a great start!
PROVENANCE: Rust collection. The history of this collection comes from the private property of Dennis Sipe's White Mountain Hereford Ranch near Springerville, AZ. This well documented prehistoric site was excavated by William Hinckley. Mr. Sipe then wound up with the pottery and artifacts collection, which he kept and displayed until death. After Mr. Sipe passed away, the Rust family acquired the collection. Included is a copy of a history of the ruin (believed to have been written by Mr. Hinckley in 1987) in which it is clearly stated that no burial sites were found or disturbed.
MAKER: Unknown potters.
APPROX AGE: (Prehistoric).
SIZE: These pots measure approximately 2 1/2 inches wide x 2 1/8 tall for the largest to 1 inch wide x 1inch tall for the smallest.
CONDITION: As found with some restoration expected. These pots have not been subjected to a black light or any other tests, other than visual by us, so the extent of any possible restoration is unknown. Buyer is responsible for determining this to their satisfaction before bidding. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
HANDLING: There will be a $20 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot.
SHIPPING: The actual cost of postage will be added on top of the handling charges. Bid on it today to make it yours!
