Description
Alfred King (English 1792-1881), mahogany and mahogany veneer tall case clock, 19th century, having a curved and scalloped hood with eagle finials, dial with seashore scene, Roman numerals, second hand and date aperture, mixed wood parquetry and stringing inlay, and rising on front bracket feet, signed 'A. King/Chippenham' to the dial.
Note: Mr. King is listed in the city directories as a ?Watch and Clockmaker Jeweller and Silversmith? from 1839 to 1859.
