Shipibo-Conibo Peruvian Pottery Figural Vessel, C. Early 20th Century - A painted earthenware pottery effigy water vessel by the female potters of the Shipibo Conibo tribe who live along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest. This coil-made pot with thin walls features a human face and is decorated with geometric tribal designs in buff and brown colors. Some areas with semi-gloss finish (mainly bottom half of pot). 7 1/4" h x 8 1/2" w. Provenance: Purchased in the 1970s from a Sarasota store that acquired these pots from John Easterling (2nd husband of Olivia Newton-John). Condition: Minor normal wear appropriate for age and use
