First Edition.Anonymous satire of the court of King George I (r.1714-1727) by Daniel Defoe. The story begins with a fable about a boy found in the German wilderness and brought to the English court, an obvious foil to the monarch, followed by more explicit satire of the English court.

Light foxing throughout, heavier to title and initial leaves, a few leaves trimmed closely at bottom affecting catchword; occasional minor soiling or dampstains, notes on rear flyleaf; overall very good.
