DESCRIPTION: Elaborately crafted bronze sculpture depicting a tengu chieftain Sitting behind a desk of three scrolls overlooking a battle among rocky outcrops between two smaller tengu - one with a human face and a beak-like nose, one with the face of a bird. Signed in seal script on verso of arch to chief's left.
CIRCA: 19th to early 20th Century
ORIGIN: Japan
DIMENSIONS: H: 19" W: 18.5" L: 21"
CONDITION: Weapons in fighting tengus' hands may be replaced, restored, and/or not original; Minor wear present on edges of desk; two tiny holes (possibly intentional) on verso
