Description
Vishnu stands in samabhanga at the center, his primary hands in varada and simhakarna mudras with the upper hands holding a chakra and conch, flanked by his consorts Shridevi and Bhudevi standing in tribhanga, each individually cast holding a lotus bud and with one arm extended alongside in mirrored poses, all above a stepped rectangular base incised with lotus roundels and geometric patterns. Provenance: French trade. Acquired from a private collection.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, predominantly from years of worship within the culture, nicks, scratches, dents, minuscule losses, and casting flaws. Fine, dark patina. The torana attached to the back of the base is lost. The Sridevi figure is possibly a later replacement, likely dating from the 18th-19th century.
