Description
Thailand. Seated in maravijaya on a flaring base, the hands in bhumisparsha and dhyana mudras, wearing a close-fitting monastic robe draped over his left shoulder, the face with downcast eyes and full lips, the hair arranged in tight snail-shell curls over the ushnisha topped by a flame finial.
Provenance: From an Austrian private collection.
Condition: Overall good condition with old wear, casting flaws, minor losses, nicks, scratches, encrustations. The bronze covered in a fine, naturally grown patina with malachite and cuprite encrustation.
