Description
China. Of rectangular form, the screen finely carved to one side with a sinuous four-clawed dragon pursuing a flaming pearl amid swirling clouds and bamboo, the beast well detailed with dense overlapping scales and spiky mane. The openwork stand decorated with scroll designs and fruiting grapevines.
Provenance: English trade. Acquired from a private estate.
Condition: Good condition with wear, expected age cracks, slight warping, and few minor old repairs with associated touchups.
