Description
Tibet. Well modeled seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with beaded rims, dressed in loose robes and richly bejeweled, his hands lowered above his lap supporting a water vessel, the square face with downcast eyes flanked by elongated earlobes suspending circular earrings, the hair arranged in a high chignon behind a foliate tiara. The base sealed and incised with a central taiji symbol surrounded by four larger and six smaller pearls.
Provenance: German trade.
Condition: Good condition with expected old wear and casting flaws including few small casting fissures. Minor nicks, light scratches, losses to inlays. Remnants of ancient lacquer gilding and pigments.
