George Smith (1829-1901) limited edition, engraving titled The First Day of Oysters after the original which was painted in 1863. It was engraved by George Greatbach. This framed piece was produced in 1880 by D. Appleton and Company on thick, heavy stock. It is double matted in a floating mat, and framed under glass. It measures 11 inches x 14 inches.
