Description

MEDIUM SIZE 1837 PATENT DATE PEPPERBOX DA PISTOL. Cal. 31. S# 166. The 6-barrel cluster measures 5" in length and is partially stamped "LT. P. ARMSTRONG H.8.^". Barrel markings include the partially obscured "THURBER NORWICH C-T" & "PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL." The frame has scroll engraving with a bar hammer marked "ALLEN'S PATENT." Matching numbers on the mainspring and two-piece walnut grips, which have German silver oval plates. CONDITION: metal has a worn gray patina appearance with scattered marks and prior light pitting. The worn wood finish has notable gouges. Dark bores. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Robert "Mike" Bricker. (01-25054/MD). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
