(2), xiv, 609 pp. Full brown morocco, a.e.g.,, 1st edition 1st state with "S.Veller" line 5 page 342 and numerous other 1st state points with 6 line errata, footnote on p.9, signature "E" on pp. 25&27, first line of second paragraph of chapter V with "ruined wall" (p. 43,) the rare signature misprint on p. 261 reading "X2,", engraved title date 1837 with 'Weller', six stripes and "Phiz fecit." Second title page dated 1838, most of the 1st issue points present. Covers lightly rubbed, light scuffing,at extremities, hinges rubbed but covers good, text detached and loose in the case but text good and tight, aging at edges of all plates (all present), staining at top inner corner of frontis and engraved title, occasional staining at middle top edge occurring in text.
