Description
ASSORTED VICTORIAN GLASS INKWELLS / INK BOTTLES, LOT OF FOUR, comprising a fiery opalescent/milk glass example in the form of a boat raised on stilts, embossed with 1870 patent date, and with a hinged Britannia lid with embossed anchor decoration; two cut examples with factory polished edges/bases and hinged brass-mounted glass lids including an emerald green octagonal example and a light blue square example with inward body curve, plus a colorless square ink which is embossed "P.R.R." to the base, possibly for the Pennsylvania Railroad, with matching loose glass cover. Various makers. Late 19th/early 20th century. 3 1/4" HOA, 5 1/2" L boat.

Condition
Green virtually undamaged with some very minor wear/roughness at edges including along lid's edge and a small area of possibly post production polishing to lid's apex; blue and opalescent examples each with moderate pattern flaking and some chipping especially to feet or edges but generally very good condition except blue lid lacks lower rim's brass mount; Railroad example body excellent with just a rim nick but with heavy shallow chipping to lower edge of cover.
