Item Details

Description

A diamond shaped Lima builder's plate made of brass for French State Railways. From a WWII era order designed to help France rebuild after WWII. This is serial number 8893 and it has the typical added studs to top and bottom mounting holes to account for boiler curve. Nice note on reverse that looks like an M&M to me suggesting affordability on a Lima diamond because of the French pedigree. A photo shows the plate on a similar steam locomotive mounted on an elephant ear. It is dated October, 1945.
