Description
Likely by Sam Welchel working in Union County, South Carolina, late 19th century. The vessel has been press molded and glazed with brown slip on exterior and white alkaline on interior. Mr. Welchel created these vessels late in his career when he no longer could throw pottery on the wheel. The vessel is in good condition throughout. H5" W6 3/4" Sold from the collection of a Midlands, South Carolina gentleman and lady.
