Notes:
Little is known about the life and work of Charles B. Russ. His earliest works date from the early 1860s, but his most productive period appears to be the 1870s and 1880s. He maintained a studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but most of his work depicts the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. He was a member and exhibitor at the Boston Art Club.
