Description
This is a mantle clock from the American Brilliant cut glass period. It is cut by Sinclaire in their pattern identified as "No. 3." The glass is cut with a copper wheel engraved floral design. It was retailed through W. W. Wattles & Sons, Pittsburgh, PA and has a Chelsea movement. This clock is shown on page 254 of the book "The Complete Cut and Engraved Glass of Corning" by Estelle Sinclaire & Jane Spillman. It is also pictured on page 53 of the book "Rarities in American Cut Glass" by Wiener & Lipkowitz.
Was with most clocks from this time period, it is not currently working and must be cleaned and adjusted. We do not guarantee movement. There is no key. Photo with the wine stem is for comparison only and the wine is not included in the sale.
