Item Details
Description
Michael Godard (American, 20th/21st c). Giclee on canvas titled "Matrix Martini" depicting his iconic animated olives blasting through a martini glass with a green and black number background from the movie "The Matrix." From the "Don't Drink and Draw" series, 2005. Signed in print and numbered 54/100 along the lower right. Signed and with an inscription along the verso reading "Chris, how deep does the rabbit hole go?? Life's intoxicating." With a certificate of authenticity.

Said Godard of this work: "This piece was inspired by the blockbuster movie The Matrix. This is a rendition of the classic Matrix scene as portrayed by our Olives. Instead of a bullet, however, we see one olive hurling a toothpick, which strikes the glass stem. The other olive performs the extreme Matrix bend to avoid being hit. In the background also see the numerical code from the movie, making this a perfect image for Matrix fans."

Height: 17 1/2 in x width: 22 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.
Condition
There are no losses or restorations. Craquelure throughout, mostly limited to the edges. The work is not framed.
